Our MetalFree™ centrifuge tubes are produced to ensure that key trace metals are kept below one part per billion. They can be used for storage and analysis tasks that require extremely low levels of most common metals.
Labcon MetalFree™ Tubes are developed using our own in-house laboratory and tested in real labs.
Certificates are on file with us by lot number for all test results and available from the certificates page.
Only 100% Medical Grade ultra low metal polypropylene resins are used in MetalFree™ Tubes. Recycled plastics or commodity grade resins can't be used because they contain contamination.
MetalFree™ Centrifuge Tubes are autoclavable with a standard 122°C plasticware process for 20 minutes.
MetalFree™ Centrifuge Tubes can be used for frozen storage to -80°C.
Labcon is the only major supplier in our industry to be registered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
All SuperClear™ sterile tubes receive a validated irradiation dose following ISO 11137 requirements and have packaging approved for medical use.
Actual test certificates are available on MetalFree™ tubes for download from the certificates download page.
Like all Labcon products MetalFree™ tubes are designed from the beginning with sustainability in mind. Our products go far beyond simple recycling to offer real Earth Friendly® solutions.
MetalFree™ tubes are lab tested to a detection level of one part per billion for common metals in the tube and the cap using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP).
Labcon MetalFree™ tubes are tested for 21 of the most common metals. This comprehensive certification testing covers most of the metals concerned in environmental testing. An additional list of metals are tested and certified to the 1ppm level.
